Our Mission

The Alameda Business Association (ABA) was founded as a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization in 1991 to promote and strengthen the commercial, professional, civic, and general business interests of Association members through education, common cultural ties, and community involvement.

 

Our Goals

Goal One

Serve as an advocate for the businesses and the district to create an economically strong and identifiable destination through mutual support and activation of the space.

Goal Two

Provide a space for business owners, local governmental agencies, and local residents to share ideas and work together on issues that affect the future of the district. 

Goal Three

Strengthen ties between district businesses and the residents that live and work in our neighborhoods and the greater San Jose Metro.

  • Doug Cookerly, President

    Doug Cookerly is the President of The ABA and the owner of Hop & Vine where you can enjoy beer, wine, and bites on The Alameda.

  • Gabrielle Antolovich, Vice President

    Gabrielle Antolovich is the Board President of Billy DeFrank LGBTQ+ Community Center.

  • Edward Saum, Secretary

    Edward is the Planning + Land Use Director and current Secretary of the Shasta Hanchett Park Neighborhood Association. An architect by training, he both lives and works within The ABA’s boundaries.

  • Rahul Beri

    Rahul is the founder and CEO of Teknol Inc., helping businesses use technology and the Internet to measurably improve their marketing performance. He is also the owner of Laurel Play Gardens on Park Ave.

  • Johnny Khamis

    Director of Community Engagement at Commercial Bank of California and the President of Silicon Valley Business Alliance.

  • Ross Barrons, Treasurer

    Ross Barrons is a Governing Board Member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

  • Nooshi Nayak

    Nooshi Nayak is the owner of Nooshi, A Tiny Hair Studio.

  • Jo Lopez

    Jo is the owner of Luna Mexican Kitchen

  • Dr. Tino Gallo

    Dr. Tino Gallo is a retired cardiologist.

  • Heather Boshears

    Heather is a Shareholder and Chair of Estates and Trusts at Hoge Fenton.
